It held therefore much! I wasn't certain of the weather therefore I packed garments for heat and funky weather,3 pairs of sandals, books,and lots of different things. I had space to spare. Fits simply fine within the overhead compartment, did not have to wedge carry on luggage in like others were doing. i really like the intense red color and carry on luggage moves freely on its wheels. i'm terribly proud of this purchase.
